Activision has officially announced that the latest title in the Guitar Hero franchise, which will hit shops this fall for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PS2, will be titled Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
ImageActivision boasts that the title will feature an unprecedented number of original master recordings as well as "grueling boss battles" and "expanded online multiplayer game modes".
The publisher also revealed that the inclusion of iconic Gibson branded guitar controllers for each platform is part of an exclusive partnership with the guitar manufacturer.
A controller based on the Les Paul guitar will be available for next generation versions of the Neversoft developed title while the PS2 version will feature the Kramer brand.
"Our relationship with Activision began with the launch of Guitar Hero over two years ago. Since then the game has had phenomenal success and many other makers have tried to compete with its popularity," said Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar.
"We have combined the power of Gibson with the power of Activision to produce one of the greatest games ever for consumers. We are sure game enthusiasts around the world will quickly make Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock a huge success."
