Trainz Review on PALGN
It does seem we have quite a following of Trainz fans so this is for you!
Essentially, then, Trainz gives you all the tools you need to build the model railway of your dreams and admire it from a train or the God-like perspective of a basement engineer. If you have no interest in building a miniature railway, or only have a passing interest in trains, then Trainz probably isn't going to keep you involved for too long. It's nothing like other train games you might be familiar with - this isn't a business simulator like the Railroad Tycoon games. Trainz is a model train simulator, pure and simple. There's no real "game" here to speak of - no points, leader boards or progress, no challenges beyond landscaping, track laying and coming to grips with the finer details of train control. There is a Waybill system in place which allows you to set up and service an industrial economy with prompt deliveries and efficient cargo shuttling, but it's not exactly gripping stuff. Really, it's hard to imagine anyone who isn't already into trains getting heavily into Trainz Classics.
