Woohoo Speedball 2!
See, I am easily old enough to remember the old version of this, with fond, very fond memories, just reading the old blurb and looking at the website of yesteryear brings a tears of joy to my eyes!
The new stuff!
The Electronic Sports World Cup 2007 finals event taking place in Paris next month is to play host to a playable version of the PC remake of Speedball 2.
Developer Kylotonn and publisher Frogster are bringing along the game on two terminals for event attendees to get their hands on. "The first public version already comprises the multiplayer mode as well as freely zoomable and turnable camera views", Frogster has explained.
Mark Ralea, community manager for Speedball 2, says that Frogster and the game's appearance at the ESWC finals "demonstrates our commitment to support and facilitate the introduction of Speedball 2 into the esports scene."
He adds, "The new Speedball founds firmly on the virtues of the legendary forerunner, but translates the title into dynamic multiplayer online matches with state-of-the-art online features".
The old stuff!
